About AI Baithak
A room where anyone can ask the basic question
AI Baithak is a free, in-person AI community in Karachi. We meet twice a month, anyone curious is welcome, and it has never cost anything to walk in.
Why it exists
Learning AI in Karachi mostly meant paying for a bootcamp, taking a course recorded for somebody else's country, or working it out alone. All three are fine. None of them puts you in a room with someone who solved the thing you are stuck on last week.
So the first baithak was five people and a laptop at a roadside table outside Queeta Hotel in May 2026. The sixth filled a lecture hall at the University of Karachi in September. The whole archive is public, including the one that five people came to.
Nothing about the format changed as it grew. It is still a sitting: someone shares what they have been building or learning, and then the room talks back.
What we are actually training
Three things, and every session maps to one of them. If a session idea serves none of them, we do not run it.
- Health
- A session should not mean sitting still for three hours. That is where walking and talking about AI comes in.
- Taste
- Fewer sessions, made properly. The kind that sharpens how you think and work, whatever field you are in.
- Pattern-finding
- We bring real problems into the room and practise finding the shape of them. Building software is easy now — everyone can do it, everyone has ideas. What is rare is a good idea, and that comes from a muscle you can train.
What we hold to
Free, every time
No ticket, no fee, and nothing to buy. Free is not an introductory offer here, it is the thing the venue partners make possible.
In person, in Karachi
A baithak is a sitting. The whole value is a room with people in it who did not know each other an hour ago. There is no recording to watch later.
No prerequisites
No degree, no portfolio, no prior experience assumed. Plenty of people come to their first one knowing nothing, and that is the point of the format.
And what it will never do
These are rules the site is built under, not sentiments. Hold us to them.
- Charge for a session, or gate one behind a signup fee
- Promise a job, a salary, a certification or an outcome
- Invent a speaker, a partner or an attendance number to look bigger
- Delete a session from the archive because it was small
It is put on by seventeen people
Every session is put together by people who wanted it to exist, around a job or a degree. If that is a room you want to be in, the next one is free and you do not have to know anything to come.
